The shock of the new

Well, with all of the little pictures of me everywhere, the ads running on the right side, and the general lack of options for customizing this page, I have decided to move this operation back to Blogger. I guess we'll lose some of the "social networking" stuff, but, I don't know, I'm kind of over Facebook. So go here: http://burdenofself.blogspot.com/. You'll need to get a Google id if you don't already have one.See More

Except we're back down to seven. I'm not sure what the magic number really is.

Got our eight!

The class looks like it has achieved the number of participants we need to be offered.

I guess True Stories is not on the list, that is ok. Love the Salinger books and his own personal story of privacy. Goffman, that takes me back.

Wow, there's a lot of photos of me here. 2 Replies

I don't like the photo tag by every entry very much, but I can't find a setting to disable it. It will be better when there's some people here. Or I need a better photo.

It would have been lovely to have found good readings for this topic from Reich, Jung, Quakers, cognitive therapists, yoga practitioners, absurdists, and others, but… Continue

Ning

So, lately I've made a blog for each course as a way to chatter during the days between classes. They've been excellent pedagogically, and, I think, pretty interesting on their own besides (e.g., Empty Selves, Apocalypses). Prior to blogging becoming easy, I created electronic bulletin boards (remember those?) to serve the same function, and prior to that we used carrier pigeons and ham radio.

Anyway, blogs have pretty much been killed by Facebook, so I'm looking at the… Continue
